Hunter Transport Consulting Pty Ltd was established in 1989 and principally provides service planning, route development, scheduling, marketing, and operations management support and advice to the passenger transport industry.
Much of our work is focused on helping transport operators realise their goals of maximising their patronage and revenue whilst minimising their costs, through innovative route design, better transit scheduling, smarter vehicle / crew rostering and simple but effective publicity targeting both their existing and potential markets.
We pride ourselves on the provision of professional and practical advice with an attention to detail that makes the difference in achieving successful outcomes. We work closely with our clients in order to recognise shortcomings in existing practices and identify potential improvements so as to draw together results that will give positive benefits to the organisation's overall operation.
Our clients comprise some of the major players within the NSW & Victorian bus industry including Interline, Punchbowl Bus Company, SkyBus, Transdev and Transit Systems, whilst we have also worked for former operators Coastal Liner Coaches, Hopkinsons and the previous owners of Forster Coaches. We also offer expertise in the Rail industry in the fields of train and light rail scheduling, crew rostering, identification of infrastructure requirements and planning Rail Replacement bus services during trackwork.
We have close contact with Sydney Trains both through the need to co-ordinate feeder bus timetables with connecting trains, and also through our involvement with Punchbowl Bus Company who provides 'Railway Bus' Rail Replacement services on four of Sydney's metropolitan lines. In these operations we play a pivotal role, firstly scheduling and costing bus timetables to meet Sydney Trains specifications and subsequently rostering and allocating up to 200 buses and 350 drivers per day through the contracted company and their associated sub-contractors. Regular weekend and mid-week operations include closures on the Inner West, South, Bankstown and Illawarra railway lines.
